LEED Green Associates and BD&C Exam Prep Program
This 2-day intensive training is intended for professionals who want to demonstrate expertise in the implementation of green building and LEED for new construction and major renovation projects through the new LEED Professional credential. This program will provide clarity on the new LEED Professional program, how it fits with your profession and will increase your ability to apply LEED in your work.
If you are a current LEED Professional:
This course provides detailed, applied insight into the structure, requirements and application of the new LEED Professional program and LEED BD&C Reference Guide, and helps prepare you to take the LEED BD&C exam.
If you are not currently a LEED Professional:
This course will help you prepare to take both the LEED Green Associates and LEED Professional with Specialty in BD&C, and fulfills your eligibility requirements to take the LEED Green Associates exam.
Course Overview
Day 1 will provide an overview of the new LEED Professionals program and green building core areas of concern, strategies, and benefits. Participants will respond to sample Green Associates-level exam questions and participate in a hypothetical project exercise.
Day 2 will focus on the implementation of green building and LEED in new construction and major renovation projects. The training will provide a credit-by-credit review through the lens of GBS’ applied experience on LEED projects. Participants will respond to sample BD&C-level exam questions and participate in a hypothetical project exercise.
Learning objectives:
• Increase foundational knowledge in green building and LEED
• Understand the intent, structure, and strategies of the new LEED BD&C Reference Guide
• Provide “on the ground” insight and understanding of the implementation of LEED BD&C in new construction and major renovation projects
• Clarify the structure, requirements, resources and opportunities of the new LEED Professional program
• Prepare for focused study to sit the LEED Green Associates and LEED Professional with Specialty in BD&C exam
Faculty Information
This course is taught by a Green Building Services (GBS) Principal and Senior Consultant that bring several years of direct, applied expertise providing consulting and technical services on green building and LEED projects. In addition to its applied consulting and technical background, GBS authored the USGBC LEED 2009 reference guides and LEED exam prep study guides. Participants will receive copies of the presentation materials to facilitate note-taking and participation in the in-class exercises.
