The chapter is looking for a few good men, women, students and YOU to help promote the sustainable, innovative and progressive building techniques at the Green Building Resource Center. You can help with educational outreach, community awareness and support for the built environment by spending about an hour guiding tours of the building and assisting guests with questions.

Welcome to the U.S. Green Building Chapter Texas Gulf Coast where we believe a healthy, cleaner, safer and greener built environment is available to everyone along the gulf.

Representing more than 1,300 individuals, 2,000 LEED APs and more than 200 companies, the Texas Gulf Coast is a vibrant and growing organization based in Houston with four branches in Galveston County, Montgomery County, Brazos Valley and Coastal Bend – with other branch territories being developed. The branches execute our chapter’s educational programs to meet community needs and grow the LEED/green building mission.

Through a robust Industry Education Program the chapter creates a foundation for a magnificent green building and LEED education program designed to funnel new professionals into the industry and the USGBC community. Tours, workshops, educational sessions and other programs create opportunities for continuing education, green building lessons and professional growth.

The Community Education Program is an innovative idea in the green building communities. By leveraging our industry membership base and trade association relationships we are uniquely qualified to answer questions and community needs related to the built environment experience. We believe we can change the expectations that parents, schoolchildren, workers, tenants, homeowners and others have of their built environment. By doing that, we can change the expectations they have of themselves and their communities.

We have always been a chapter that understands how to bring new and relevant topics to the community we serve and the public at-large. Just look at our busy calendar to your right! Through our revitalized Community Learning Program, we present symposias, training sessions and community awareness activities several times a year through our committees, branches and collaborating organizations.

Our chapter is growing. Our programs are getting stronger and our leadership is trained to lead a generational movement that is taking marketplace transformation into a cultural revolution.

We welcome you to join us because "going green" isn’t just about hugging trees anymore.
